Rhona Graham
Biography[edit]
Rhona is a final year languages student studying German and Spanish. Born in England, raised in Wales, she attempted to make up for lost Englishness by joining LOpSoc in 2014, during her first year. Her first show was Iolanthe 2015, and she remained on board for H.M.S. Pinafore 2015, in which her "prim but slutty vodka aunt" was certainly a unique interpretation.
It was during this production run that she first suggested the idea of the now ubiquitous LOpSoc Naked Charity Calendar, which led to Rhona becoming the youngest ever LOpSoc member to have a meme made from them. The production run also saw the appearance of the famous "Rhona bitch face", which has been known to destroy the minds of lesser men. Rhona returned to her raptor fairy in Iolanthe 2015 (Harrogate), causing several pensioners to congratulate her after the show for such a wonderful performance in Jurassic Park.
Rhona was the wardrobe manager for LOpSoc's production of Fiddler on the Roof 2016, which fulfilled her childhood dream of dressing people up like Yiddish peasant doll people and forcing them to re-enact Russian pogroms. Needless to say, everyone enjoyed the range of brown clothing, particularly Ben Walker, whose closing comment was "Thank you for making me so beige." She also thinks that the show's subplot about potatoes really deserved more attention, but then, this is why she isn't a director.
Rhona's took on her first principal role (other than the extremely important Woman 1 role in Fiddler on the Roof 2016) as The Duchess of Plaza Toro in Gondoliers 2016, along with Venetia Matthews. She did 3 of the Annexe perfomances, and very much hopes that everyone who watches the show watches the Harrogate version, as her counterpart did a much better job of it.
She also managed to join the chorus for the Plaza-Tour, and is still amazed that she managed to spend the entire opening song in the front row without messing up.
Rhona spent her third year as an Erasmus student in Spain, where she considered herself as an 'absent but overly invested' member, travelling all the way just to see Mikado 2017. She also started the second LOpSoc Against Humanity deck, as a way of trying to stay in with all the fresh memes. She joined LOpSoc again for Mikado 2017 (Harrogate).
In her final year, she performed the role of Ruth in Ruddygore 2018, joined the committee as tours officer, and took on the role of Creative Director for LOpSoc's first performance of Patience. Her dream of the LOpSoc Naked Charity Calendar was also realised, when Hannah Parsons corralled a group of shameless members to take part in the SUSU RAG calendar.
