Liam Chan
Liam Chan joined LOpSoc as Assistant Musical Director half way through the rehearsal process for Mikado 2017, then rose to the grand title of Musical Director for Mikado 2017 (Harrogate). He fast became beloved (and consequently absorbed) by the society. It was soon vowed that he should never be allowed to return to his previous life, and was dragged kicking and screaming into the position of Musical Director for Ruddygore 2018. Once fully trapped in the endless cycle that is LOpSoc membership, Liam embarked on note-bashing his way through yet another show as Assistant Musical Director of the Summer show, Patience 2018. This also marked his stage debut, involving gratuitous clap push ups, much to the dismay of his elbows.
Liam's musical directing style typically involves abandoning any actual musical direction and instead enthusiastically filling the shoes of absent principals, regardless of vocal part or gender. He also occasionally sasses the chorus, but only when he feels like it.
Liam is also the recipient of the 2018 Professor Lilley Award for going above and beyond for the society.
