Billy joined LOpSoc for [[Fiddler on the Roof 2016]] where he played the role of ''Mordcha'' the inkeeper. He then went on to play ''Don Alhambra'' in [[Gondoliers 2016]] in the annex theatre, as well as in Harrogate 2016, where he received a nomination for Best Character Actor. He then went on to co-direct [[Mikado 2017]] with [[George Smith]] in the Nuffield, which was subsequently taken to Harrogate that summer. The Mikado picked up numerous awards at the International GIlbert and Sullivan festival 2017, including ''Best Show'' and ''Best Direction'' for Billy and George. He also re-continued his slew of 'comic relief' roles with the role of ''Chitterlow'' in [[Half a Sixpence 2017]], before playing the lovably loyal ''Old Adam'' in [[Ruddygore 2018]]. His next role was as the ''Colonel'', re-styled as the rugby captain, despite having the physique of a monkey drum, in [[Patience 2018]], which he reprised in Harrogate later that year. Billy then faced a completely new challenge, playing ''Lady Blanche'' in the production of [[Princess Ida 2019]], which was his final role as an undergraduate.

Born Benjamin Jonathan Oliver Walker, Ben was an English and philosophy student (though he prefers the term "philosopher poet") who blundered into LOpSoc more or less by accident in his first year, and stayed because he liked the productions' constant use of the word "wherefore". He was the Loremaster for the 2015/16 academic year, which means he was responsible for editing and updating all the pages on here to be more current and "on-message with LOpSoc's new corporate philosophy".

Ben began his PA career searching for personal validation in acid trips of shows like ComedySoc's cross-PA production ''The Case of the Film Genre Killer'' and his own stand-up, with limited success. Soon after Genre Killer ended, he and fellow "innocent" first year [[Katie Giles]] were poached by HMS Pinafore director [[Joe Hand]] (the Inspector from ''Genre Killer'') to screw around in the back of his show, thus beginning a beautiful relationship with Victorian colonial propaganda. Ben then went up to Harrogate with the rest of LOpSoc to be a punk rock fairy - in his words, "if there are three words I want to describe me at all times, those would be the three". There, he made an excellent friend in his cup of tea, which was, to quote " the only thing that didn't have the capacity to hurt me." Building on that success, he then took a short holiday to Anatevka to be the world's worst Bolshevik in LOpSoc's 2016 production of [[Fiddler on the Roof 2016]].

After a pretty successful run in Fiddler, he then took on the role of the Duke and Duchess' valet/servant/pet monkey Luiz in LOpSoc's upcoming summer show The Gondoliers. He hopes his grade 8 coconut playing skills were up to the task. After one run of super tight costume trousers that he was reassured were totally fine (and weren't) he then proceeded to take them to Harrogate for [[Gondoliers 2016 (Harrogate)]] to subdue the adjudicators into giving us good marks.

Next, he took on being Koko in [[The Mikado 2017]], where his main duties were complaining about his busted knee, having intensely spiky hair and inserting wrestling references into a Victorian show, which amused him greatly. [[Half a Sixpence 2017]] gave him the chance to have a jaunt to nearly his hometown to play Sid, the Marxist. Once a Marxist... After musing gently on the importance of reminding the people Folkestone is nowhere near as nice as Half a Sixpence makes out, he then re-donned the Sonic hair to play Koko once more on the Harrogate stage for [[The Mikado 2017]], now with the added task of ignoring [[Katie Giles]] who had nothing to do but annoy him relentlessly as his creator and therefore boss.

Having graduated, he tried to escape the LOpSoc pull by writing his own stuff at home and pretending not to hear the siren call, but alas, the call of the eternal bobbing and rapture was too great, and he returned to be part of the rugby boy chorus for [[Patience 2018]], as the angriest boy on the squad, who STILL complains about his busted knee.

Billy joined LOpSoc for [[Fiddler on the Roof 2016]] where he played the role of ''Mordcha'' the inkeeper. He then went on to play ''Don Alhambra'' in [[Gondoliers 2016]] in the annex theatre, as well as in Harrogate 2016, where he received a nomination for Best Character Actor. He then went on to co-direct [[Mikado 2017]] with [[George Smith]] in the Nuffield, which was subsequently taken to Harrogate that summer. The Mikado picked up numerous awards at the International GIlbert and Sullivan festival 2017, including ''Best Show'' and ''Best Direction'' for Billy and George. He also re-continued his slew of 'comic relief' roles with the role of ''Chitterlow'' in [[Half a Sixpence 2017]], before playing the lovably loyal ''Old Adam'' in [[Ruddygore 2018]]. His latest role was as the ''Colonel'' in [[Patience 2018]], which he reprised in Harrogate that year. Billy now faces a new challenge, playing ''Lady Blanche'' in the upcoming production of [[Princess Ida 2019]].

Billy has also served in committee, firstly as ''Archivist'' for 2017/18, a role which he changed the name of to ''Loremaster'' via a narrow society vote, which fulfilled a manifesto promise originally made by the previous archivist [[Ben Walker]], but was not carried out. On the back of his success, he was also elected into his current role as ''Chair'' of the society for the year 2018/19.

==Biography==
Abigail joined LOpSoc at the start of the 2013/4 season and gave her first performance with LOpSoc in [[Pirates of Penzance 2014]]. She has performed in every show since, and played the role of "Stephanie" in [[Iolanthe 2015]] and [[Iolanthe 2015 (Harrogate)]]. In 2016 she directed [[Fiddler on the Roof]] with [[Emily Gray]].

Abigail is studying Environmental Science at the University of Southampton. She is a keen tree hugger and will regularly embrace the odd passing vegetation whilst slightly inebriated. Sadly, the environmental scientists at university proved to be too normal for Abigail too truly express all of her weirdness. Enter LOpSoc.

Born Benjamin Jonathan Oliver Walker, Ben is a third year English and philosophy student (though he prefers the term "philosopher poet") who blundered into LOpSoc more or less by accident in his first year, and stayed because he liked the productions' constant use of the word "wherefore". He is the incumbent Loremaster for the 2015/16 academic year, which means he's now responsible for editing and updating all the pages on here to be more current and "on-message with LOpSoc's new corporate philosophy".

Ben began his PA career searching for personal validation in acid trips of shows like ComedySoc's cross-PA production ''The Case of the Film Genre Killer'' and his own stand-up, with limited success. Soon after Genre Killer ended, he and fellow "innocent" first year [[Katie Giles]] were poached by HMS Pinafore director [[Joe Hand]] (the Inspector from ''Genre Killer'') to screw around in the back of his show, thus beginning a beautiful relationship with Victorian colonial propaganda. Ben then went up to Harrogate with the rest of LOpSoc to be a punk rock fairy - in his words, "if there are three words I want to describe me at all times, those would be the three". There, he made an excellent friend in his cup of tea, which was, to quote " the only thing that didn't have the capacity to hurt me." Building on that success, he's now taking a short holiday to Anatevka to be the world's worst Bolshevik in LOpSoc's 2016 production of [[Fiddler on the Roof 2016]].

After a pretty successful run in Fiddler, he's happy to take on the role of the Duke and Duchess' valet/servant/pet monkey Luiz in LOpSoc's upcoming summer show The Gondoliers. He hopes his grade 8 coconut playing skills will be up to the task.

===Biography===

Amber, a second year music student, joined LOpSoc in 2016 for Fiddler on the Roof, not expecting the tag team cult effort of [[Ben Walker]] and [[Katie Giles]] raining down meaning that it was too late for escape. She may have questionable murderous French ancestors, so we don't mock her TOO much, for the safety of our English souls.

Having fled the burning remains of Anatevka in [[Fiddler on the Roof 2016]], she then moved onto getting sweet revenge on [[Katie Giles]] in her role as Fiametta in the upcoming run of The Gondoliers by refusing to let her ruin the plan of eschewing the gondoliers in favour of Marco and Giuseppe by way of violence. She is also took on the mammoth task of clothing the entirety of LOpSoc with beautiful clothes as the wardrobe director of the aforementioned show.

She now looks forward to playing Peep Bo in [[The Mikado 2017]] in the Nuffield Theatre.

Amy is a music student who joined LOpSoc in the 2014/15 season and played violin in the band for [[Iolanthe 2015]], before joining the chorus for [[H.M.S. Pinafore 2015]], and then the Peers Chorus for [[Iolanthe 2015 (Harrogate)]]. In 2016 she was Musical Director and conducted the band for [[Fiddler on the Roof]] and played ''Casilda'' in [[Gondoliers 2016]] and [[Gondoliers 2016 (Harrogate)]] . '''Joe "Wanna" Hand''' is a third year zoology student at Southampton, who kids himself that he'll be able to leave Southampton when he graduates and seek alternative arrangements in London, where the pavements are gold and only sometimes chewing gum. He also sometimes refers to himself in the third person. He was the LOpSoc secretary for the 2014/2015 year, and ordinary member for the 2015/2016 year.

His LOpSoc career began with his first appearance as the Pirate King in the Southampton run of [[Pirates of Penzance 2014]] and [[Pirates of Penzance 2014 (Harrogate)]], during which he hip thrusted so much at the audience that his pelvis turned into solid gold. To this day, Joe's hips have about the same value as the GDP of Lesotho. His role as Toby in [[Sweeney Todd 2014]] was more or less the exact opposite of the Pirate King, and turned his co-star [[Jon North]] off meat pies and shaved heads for life. To sing as Toby, Joe had to sing higher than his comfortable range, and for around two weeks after the show he spent around three weeks sounding like an understudy for Alvin and the Chipmunks.

He took a small break from LOpSoc shows to star in the cross-PA "mescaline trip" of a show ''The Case of the Film Genre Killer'', before returning to direct [[H.M.S. Pinafore 2015]] with Jon North and several of his knees. His "angry fairy" character for [[Iolanthe 2015]]'s Harrogate run will not be forgotten - especially not by several other chorus members' boots, which still bear scars from his outbursts of pure, unrestrained rage. Fans of Joe's "great big busshy beard" will be excited to learn that he plays the magnificently fuzzed Tevye in LOpSoc's 2016 production of [[Fiddler on the Roof]].

He has sung for 7 years in a choir, and for 3 of those was part of an a capella group. He owns 37 tortoises, a ferret, a St. Bernard, a cat, two chickens and three preying mantises called Haley, Ophelia and Beans, who are also all part of an a capella group.

He guesses he'd probably like to end up living in the Lake District or something, although anywhere which has a solid supply of d20s and beard combs will do just fine.

Joe died in March 2014 when he was mercilessly shaved off of the face of [[Ulf]], his host organism, but was reborn weeks later after an industrial accident created a perfect genetic clone from three stray hairs, a printout of his Reddit karma, and an old D&D Monster Manual.

His "angry fairy" character for [[Iolanthe 2015]]'s Harrogate run will not be forgotten - especially not by several other chorus members' boots, which still bear scars from his outbursts of pure, unrestrained rage. Fans of Joe's "great big busshy beard" will be excited to learn that he plays the magnificently fuzzed Tevye in LOpSoc's 2016 production of [[Fiddler on the Roof]].

He has sung for 7 years in a choir, and for 3 of those was part of an a capella group. He owns 37 tortoises, a ferret, a St. Bernard, a cat, two chickens and three preying mantises called Haley, Ophelia and Beans, who are also all part of an a capella group.

He guesses he'd probably like to end up living in the Lake District or something, although anywhere which has a solid supply of d20s and beard combs will do just fine.

Joe died in March 2014 when he was mercilessly shaved off of the face of [[Ulf]], his host organism, but was reborn weeks later after an industrial accident created a perfect genetic clone from three stray hairs, a printout of his Reddit karma, and an old D&D Monster Manual.

== Biography ==

Barnaby "Barney" Wilson (other nicknames listed below) is an esteemed LOpSoc member who's contributed a lot to our society. He's made himself known through principal parts, direction, or giving us fresh fuel for the nonexistent meme page that definitely does not exist. He was born, as all other people are, some time in the mid 90s, and lived an easy life of comfort before taking a Maths degree and deciding to do LOpSoc shows somewhere around 2015. His first principal part as Philip in the Iolanthe run of Harrogate started a spiral into insanity most people call "LOpSoc membership" but his psychiatrist called "unacceptable". His role as Philip also led to him discovering his special power: a Pokemon-esque [["AAAAAA" sound blast]] that shattered the ear drums of several audience members, and left several cast members with the inability to hear anything but the opening notes to "O Shameless One, Tremble" for 36 hours.

After a successful run of Iolanthe, during which he was only partially unnerved, Barney took some control over the music of H.M.S Pinafore as our esteemed co-MD. This left him open to the sisters cousins and aunts chorus, according to this biographer, alternately hitting on him and doing as they were told. Such attention gave him war flashbacks to Iolanthe, a condition he still suffers whenever he hears the sounding brasses loudly bang or looks at a picture of the Houses of Parliament for longer than 10 seconds. Pinafore, however, was a resounding success. Which is nice.

Barnaby is a man who enjoys being involved in production teams. His next position was telling the rabble we call LOpSoc just how many Fruma Sarahs (experts say it was "quite a few") to sing in Fiddler on the Roof as our co-MD. His capacity for involvement didn't end there, as he played His Honour the Priest, a little Jewish boy, the world's least threatening Russian and the summoned ghost of Derek Jacobi in a show that critics called "actually quite good". Such versatility was well rewarded as he moves on to playing Marco in the upcoming show The Gondoliers. We know he can take a pair of sparkling eyes, but I really wish he'd stop carrying them around in his pocket.

===Biography===

Amber, a second year music student, joined LOpSoc in 2016 for Fiddler on the Roof, not expecting the tag team cult effort of [[Ben Walker]] and [[Katie Giles]] raining down meaning that it was too late for escape. She may have questionable murderous French ancestors, so we don't mock her TOO much, for the safety of our English souls.

Having fled the burning remains of Anatevka in [[Fiddler on the Roof 2016]], she then moved onto getting sweet revenge on [[Katie Giles]] in her role as Fiametta in the upcoming run of The Gondoliers by refusing to let her ruin the plan of eschewing the gondoliers in favour of Marco and Giuseppe by way of violence. She is also took on the mammoth task of clothing the entirety of LOpSoc with beautiful clothes as the wardrobe director of the aforementioned show.

She now looks forward to playing Peep Bo in [[The Mikado 2017]] in the Nuffield Theatre.

Venetia joined LOpSoc in 2014 when she was sentenced to death by the Judge in [[Sweeney Todd 2014]]. She moved then to be one of the most fabulous tap-dancing Peers ever seen for [[Iolanthe 2015]]. She was one of LOpSoc's Publicity Officers in 2015/2016, being Associate Producer and playing the role of Bielke in [[Fiddler on the Roof 2016]]. Now going back to her natural noble status, she is due to perform the role of the Duchess of Plaza-Toro in [[Gondoliers 2016]].
